Myanmar Airways International (MAI) has a long history with over 30 years of experience in aviation industry within the region. The National Flag carrier of the Union of Myanmar took off in August 1993 created by a joint venture company. In April 2010, MAI has its new partners from private companies and management with an international perspective, our corporate goal is to establish MAI as the modern, safe and reliable airline for the cost-conscious business and leisure travelers in the market it serves.
We believe that with the wonderful staff we have and the resources we now have access to, we are on our way to creating a first rate airline among regional. From the moment you are onboard, until long after you leave, you will be enhanced by the genuine smiles, direct-friendliness and integrity of our cockpit crew, cabin crew, and ground crew. Yet these are just small examples of a unique culture heritage that still provides guiding principles for the Myanmar people.
It has been eighteen years since this airline started flying in August 1993 and it has progressed gradually but surely. Now under new management we intend to go even further introducing additional new aircrafts and adding new routes. MAI currently flies regular flights between Yangon and Bangkok, Singapore, Kuala Lumpur, Gaya, Siem Reap, Guangzhou and Bangkok- Singapore – Bangkok with Airbus fleets. MAI will continue to develop regionally and will expend new routes to Delhi and Jakarta very soon and also explore the possibility of operating to medium haul sectors, Dubai, Seoul and Tokyo with Airbus A330 in near future. We are working our best for the successful development of becoming the reputable international airline, as we have already gained momentum.
